You are assessed solely on the basis of how you do in each 3 hour 15 minute examination.

(For 2020, these were 5 hour 15 minute exams, taken online.)

Typically, you answer four out of eight questions. Often, this is a mix of essay-type questions and problem-solving case scenarios.

For some modules (e.g., Criminal Law), students are required to answer three of six questions, in addition to 15 multiple choice questions.

Legal System & Methods has a pre-exam component, requiring you to submit a case note on a case that then forms the basis of one compulsory question in the exam.  No grade is awarded.

However, if you do not submit your LSM case note by the deadline* (March for the May exam, and September for the October exam), you will lose 25 marks (i.e., 25% of the module grade).

* The deadline for case note submission changes each year, and you should check the deadlines on the < VLE home page/ LSM >.
