Yes, you can do as your friends suggest, and join — or form — a WhatsApp study group.
Consider, though, whether your study buddies are specialists in that subject, such that they know how to:
(1) Structure and direct your course of study in time for your exam…?
(2) Address your questions directly, relevantly, and to the point (i.e., without going around in circles)… ?
(3) Grade your written answers to past exam questions to standards expected by an examiner …?
(4) Teach you to define legal issues (succinctly), research (and brief) legal cases, and apply legal principles (specifically and relevantly) to an exam question, without starting from Topic One, Two, Three…?
(5) Show what you must do to elevate your answers to a higher grade band…?
(6) Point out (as we always do, based on our experiences as senior examiners in other university systems) what it is (specifically) that examiners are looking for…?
(7) Show how to “connect the dots” and apply legal principles and ways of thinking, not only to exam questions, but also to a particular situation that affects you; and be able to analyze a specific news story or legislation in your city/country or elsewhere…?
(8) Mentor and guide you on module choices, career paths and options…?
… and more…
