{"id":2376,"date":"2020-10-22T03:44:48","date_gmt":"2020-10-22T03:44:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/uol-law-tutors.com\/?page_id=2376"},"modified":"2025-10-01T16:37:14","modified_gmt":"2025-10-01T16:37:14","slug":"second-upper-in-criminal-law","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/uol-law-tutors.com\/index.php\/testimonials\/second-upper-in-criminal-law\/","title":{"rendered":"Second Upper in Criminal Law"},"content":{"rendered":"<blockquote><p>I started the University of London Bachelor of Laws through the Graduate Entry Stream in 2019 and was not initially successful in the programme.\u00a0 While I felt I had some understanding of the core concepts of law, I narrowly failed the October 2019 criminal law exam and did not score particularly well in contract law.<\/p>\n<p>Initially, my approach was to apply the study techniques from my first undergraduate degree, focusing on completing the readings and activities and making a commitment to read the entire text outside of the assigned readings.\u00a0 I attempted to memorize a large amount of information and apply everything I knew to the question so I could show complete knowledge of the topic during the exams &#8211; this was the wrong method.<br \/>\nI failed to apply specific knowledge to questions and took a far too descriptive approach to the study of law that did not enable me to achieve high marks.<\/p>\n<p>After contacting UoL Law Tutors, I began working with my instructor who developed a plan so I could be successful in the May 2020 exams.\u00a0 Even under the challenging circumstances of COVID-19, I was able to achieve a second-upper classification, far above what I anticipated.<\/p>\n<p>Ian<\/p>\n<p>[Oct. 21, 2020]<\/p><\/blockquote>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I started the University of London Bachelor of Laws through the Graduate Entry Stream in 2019 and was not initially successful in the programme.\u00a0 While I felt I had some understanding of the core concepts of law, I narrowly failed the October 2019 criminal law exam and did not score particularly well in contract law.
